Celebrating Recovery Month in September
New Mexico
Voices and Images of Recovery Communities from across New Mexico will showcase the accomplishments of their people in recovery and their recovery-oriented systems of care through a “New Mexico Voices and Images of Recovery” webcast. This is a grass roots event coordinated by Recovery Communities of New Mexico and the state’s Behavioral Health Planning Council to celebrate Recovery Month in September.

Activities:
- Video: RCNM will ask each New Mexico community to submit and narrate a video documentary celebrating their people in recovery and their system of care. These will show why each community is a special place to recover, include individual recovery stories, showcase artists in recovery, include performances, and more.
- Community: RCNM will reach out to “communities of purpose” such as statewide Native American organizations, Hispanic organizations, LGBTQ organizations, African American advocacy organizations and others to provide videos of their community’s role in recovery as well.
- Submissions: These will be integrated into a webcast that will be subsequently posted on the web. Each community will determine their video’s content and produce it. RCNM will issue guidelines and will review video submissions for appropriateness.
- Webcast: RCNM will work with a statewide integration team to lace community videos together into our state’s voices and images of recovery webcast. RCNM will solicit statewide video input and participation from statewide care organizations.
